What is StillDepth®?

StillDepth® is a philosophy based on a simple observation.

A dog can be still because they are frightened.

A dog can be still because they are confused.

A dog can be still because they have given up.

But a dog can also be still because they feel safe, secure and emotionally balanced.

Those states may look similar on the surface, but they are profoundly different underneath.

StillDepth® is the calm depth that exists beneath true stillness.

It is the state where a dog is able to think clearly, learn effectively and engage with the world around them without fear or overwhelm.

The philosophy extends beyond dogs.

People can experience StillDepth® too.

In a world that often feels rushed, noisy and reactive, StillDepth® encourages us to slow down, observe more carefully and build deeper understanding of ourselves, each other and the animals we share our lives with.

At Lancashire Canine Academy, StillDepth® guides the way we train.

Through StillDepth Community CIC, it guides the way we educate.

Because understanding creates connection, and connection creates change.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve lives through education.

We aim to:

• Help children understand dogs and stay safe around them
• Improve dog welfare through greater public understanding
• Support emotional wellbeing through educational programmes and storytelling
• Create safer, more compassionate communities for both people and animals

Our Programmes

StillDepth® Safe Dogs Programme

Teaching children how to understand dog body language and interact safely with dogs.

Through interactive workshops, storytelling and practical demonstrations, children learn skills that can stay with them for life.

Each child receives a copy of Max the Dog Whisperer and has the opportunity to meet Charlie, our school therapy dog.

As a Community Interest Company, all funds raised are reinvested directly into our projects.
